Discover Saint Hilaire de Riez
The city of Saint-Hilaire-de-Riez, Vendee, district of Sables d’Olonne, is a seaside resort with a unique coastal area:
• 9 km of sandy beaches, from the resort of Saint-Jean-de-Monts, north, to the heart of station Saint-Hilaire-de-Riez, called Sion-l’ ocean;
• 4 km of rocky coastline interspersed with coves overhung by the Vendée Corniche, from the Sion-Ocean, to the port of Saint-Gilles-Croix-de-Vie in the south.
Along the 13 km of beaches, a footpath, corresponding to the pedestrian right of way from the coast, connecting the two ends of the town. 11 beaches with different atmospheres, excluding coves dot the coastline.
The heart station, the Sion-Ocean, gives immediate access to the dunes and 600 hectares of forest Pays-de-Monts, and further, thanks to hiking trails, the 300 hectares of saltmarsh and 1500 ha freshwater plots.
