Beaches and forests
The beach 3.5 km from the campsite, is the great attraction of Saint-Jean-de-Monts.
It offers large spaces because it measures more than 8 kilometers long.
It is accessible to all and rarely troubled in summer thanks to a very soft sandy slope to the bottom. The waves are small and the water level remains low for several hundred meters. At high tide, the beach area is very large and offers an ideal playground for fishermen on foot, sports of all kinds, children (sand castle …… ..).
The forest of Saint Jean de Monts is 712 hectares or 11% of the area of the town.

The national forest of Pays de Monts stretches over the dune, 25 km long north between Fromentine and Sion Ocean to the south.

The trail squirrels – this place of rendezvous is open to all small to enjoy the unique setting of the forest of Saint-Jean-de-Monts
The heronry – It remains a curiosity of the forest of the Pays de Monts. In a superb, herons and egrets gazettes coexist. The flight shy small and bickering between these two species will delight you. The Héronnière brings together more than 900 nests in total. The pines, with an average height of 20m, can contain up to ten nests per tree in early April June.
