You will discover a seaside region with its nature, forests and dunes. This natural area covers approximately 2,000 hectares and will be appreciated by nature lovers. The Pays de Monts State Forest spreads its vegetation on the edge of the dune.

Here are some ideas for walks, such as the dune gardens, which will allow you to discover an extremely fragile natural environment. The marram grass of the dunes forms the coastal fringe where many plant species inhabit this environment. You can learn to recognize them as you walk by taking the various marked trails and discovering the answers to a few questions such as: «How is a dune formed?». It is an educational walk that is sure to charm you.

You can also take the squirrel trail, which is the area dedicated to the youngest visitors. It is open to everyone and allows you to enjoy the exceptional setting of the Saint-Jean-de-Monts forest.

The Belvédère is accessible via a walking trail starting from the Parée Jésus site. It is a panoramic viewpoint allowing you to admire the sea and the golf course of Saint Jean de Monts from the forest. Also enjoy guided nature walks, with or without a GPS.

Another curiosity of our region remains the Pays de Monts state forest. In this privileged site, the heronry, where grey herons and little egrets live side by side. Perhaps you will have the chance to see the timid takeoff of the chicks. This heronry environment counts no less than 900 nests in total. Our maritime pines, averaging 20m in height, can gather up to ten nests per tree between April and early June. And who knows, maybe you and your family will be able to admire a heron around a bend during one of your walks!! So don't forget to take your cameras or binoculars to capture this moment of happiness.

Vous ne savez pas quoi faire pendant vos vacances à Saint Jean de Monts ?
